Any recommendations as having a few days in York in August.
-
We always use The garden of india on fawcett street near the barbican.Look it up on trip advisor.Never had a bad meal in the last 15 years.
-
Thanks mate, I'll check it out.

Also a York resident, I agree that the Garden is great, but I also recommend York Tandoori takeaway on Lowther Street, it's a short walk out of town, but it's also a BYO and there is a spar a few doors down to get some lager or wine and quite cheap.

Cheers Dave. Probably wont be having a takeaway and a carry-out from Spar lol.
I don't think Mrs Garp would appreciate it.
Any other sit-in restaurants worth a mention?
-
Sorry, despite the name its a restaurant. It's quite, erm rustic...
-
Thanks, I'll have a look :)

Occasionally the best food is found in the most unexpected location. Unfortunately it is very occasional.

Yes, like some courgette fritters I once had served by the last remaining inhabitant of an abandoned village overlooking a volcano on one of the Greek islands. :)

I might give that one a miss Dave but thanks :)
