Hi Guys

I'm pretty pleased with my curries now and have a good selection that I have nailed to call on from: mine are in no particular order

Chewys base
CA's mix powder
Happy Chris Naans
Blades Tikka
Dips Raita and onion salad
Dips mushroom pilau
Dips tikka biryani rice, but not the curry that goes with it
Ca's pilau with all additions
Chewys Madras
Ca's Korma
Colin Grigsons simple massur dhal
Alex Wilkies Punjabi staff curry either chicken or veg version
CBM's Chicken Chat and Bombay potatoes from BIR Vol 1

It would be good to see your guys lists

Ed

Hi Ed,
My curry nights for the family must always have a traditional Rogan Josh from Madhur Jaffreys book from the very first BBC series she presented. If it is not there they want to know why.
They also like a Vivek Singh stir-fry of greens with garlic so that tends to make a regular appearance, as does a traditional Kichri.
Other than those I’m free to play about and experiment with the rest of the dishes.

I've had a quick flick through my recipe files and these are some of my favourites

CA Sheek kebab
CA mild base, ChewwyTikka 1 hour pressure cooker base or Sober Rats base (I finds all of these are good, and not that different)
A modified version of CA pilau rice
Chapatti (cannot remember the author)
ChewwyTikka/Sober Rat Madra
Loveitspicey Chicken Rogan Josh
Tarka dal (not sure who to attribute this to, just a simple dal)

CA features a couple of times. He left before I joined but many of the recipes he post give good results

I like this question, it's a bit like your top ten albums, very tricky.

Mine as follows:

Taz base
BE spice mix
Pat Chapman Tandoori Masala
Dipuraja's Yellow Mint Sauce
Ashoka Onion Bhajis
Curryhell's North Indian Special
Achmal's Madras

These are the stand-outs. The rest would be recipes I have created for Taz base, or my adaptations of other people's recipes to suit the Taz base. Dishes such as Punjabi Masala, Pathia, Chasni etc. have been pretty successful.

The Ashoka Bhajis......Is the recipe in the starters section ? Cant seem to find it

Cheers

Not sure if the Bhaji recipe was ever on here. The link to it that was in a newspaper is now dead. If you really want it it's in the Ashoka Cookbook by Sanjay Majhu but it's nothing special.
Fighting for truth, justice and the BIR way!
