Farewell Teflon

During the period leading up to Christmas, Lidl (Bodmin, and probably elsewhere) carried a range of copper-bottom cooking utensils.  Having hankered after a copper-bottomed pan for the best part of 50 years [1], I decided to treat myself, and since then I haven't looked back,  Whilst I bought my pan (a 24" frying pan) very specifically for making curries, I have since then used it for everything requiring frying, and it is a joy to use.  Whilst it has a stainless-steel handle, I have never once burned myself, and it is simplicity itself to keep clean; furthermore, it produces the best crispy-edged fried eggs I have ever tasted.  So whilst I plan to retain my ceramic non-stick pans for a little longer, my Teflon
