Chilli Mushroom Pilau.

Chilli Mushroom Pilau.

I haven’t had much interest in the forum lately, but with the new management onboard let’s give it a crack.

Here is a tasty spicy Pilau, very simple to make enjoyable on its own or with Naan and pickles.
Lc.

Fry Onion, Mushrooms with some Salt and fresh sliced green Chilli. Pilau rice to cover. Then stir fry till like first image. Then 1tsp mix powder Then 0.5tsp Kashmiri chilli powder Stir Fry, Can then add more chopped fresh green chilli if required, Coriander to finish. Don’t think I had any to hand here.
Any whole Spice visable is from my process of cooking Pilau rice.

What caused the darkening of the rice in the second image, LC ?

Hi Phil.

Sorry, I have now updated the Post to include recipe process.

The darkening is caused by 1tsp of mix powder and 0.5 tsp of Kashmiri chilli powder.

Ah, that would indeed explain it.  When you wrote "chilli mushroom pilau", I imagined that the only chillies would be fresh, not dried and ground.  And of course the mix powder, too, would significantly affect the colour.

Yes Sorry If my description wasn’t clear, chillies are fresh, have to be fresh for the flavour. See description.

It’s just the way I do it, many more or similar out there I’m not intentionally posting a recipe just the process I use if it helps anyone. Thanks

Your rice looks good, if a tad well done, but not greasy  ;)
Mushroom Pilau is a favourite rice dish of mine, love it!
either in a BIR or cooked at home. 
Burn those spices "Singefry" and Bhunao are the keys to success.
Smoking Mustard Oil is good for You and your curries.....Lol
