Looks very nice  Livo. How was the texture of the naan? Did it live up to expectations?

Thanks, Sverige,  Delicious and yes, the naan is as good as it gets (for me anyway).  I wont be changing recipe in a hurry.
I'll have to tell my daughter to take the stickers off the lemon before photos next time.

Ok, so you've achieved the soft texture you felt was lacking when cooking the same recipe using a tawa?  How much shorter is the cooking time in the tandoor?

Well they only take between 3 and 4 minutes on the tawa and probably about 2 in the tandoor so time isn't really greatly reduced. Could cook 4 or 5 at a time in the tandoor though (not yet).

Hi Livo
Your first Tandoor meal looks great, power to you ;)
Chicken and Naan look spot on!

Not sure what the yellow portion is?
Was thinking creamed corn or even scrambled egg ;D :o

cheers Chewy

It was delicious Chewy and the smell of Tandoori chicken and kababs was still lingering in the kitchen this morning.  I love your tandoori chicken marinade.

The "yellow blob" is actually really bad turmeric rice made hastily in the microwave and using generic plain white rice, as I foolishly ran out of Basmati. To make matters worse I was in the Indian market on Tuesday.   :o  When I say really bad, it wasn't actually that bad but certainly not up to scratch.  SHMBO is wanting turmeric in everything at the moment.  Apparently it is wonderfully healthy but I reckon you'd need to eat a whole lot of it to do much good.  She has recently started bringing home fresh roots of the stuff and grating it into hot water to make turmeric tea.  I think she must be growing it in the veggie garden at her work.

I buy her a 1kg bag every couple of weeks as she also feeds it to our horses.

That chicken looks nice and juicy Livo, I haven't made Naan bread for a long time so I should really get around to it again.

All the best

Rob
