Most often cooked
« on: February 22, 2019, 02:00 AM »
All

I have no idea how to ask this question and I have read some posts where there are polls.

What is your favourite starter ?
What is your favourite main dish ?
Do you have a 'desert' dish ?

I have come home tonight and rather than take a keema & spinach or a chicken & chickpea out of the freezer, I have chosen a CTM.  CTM is not an 'on the spot' curry, due to marinading and yet it is my personal choice.  What is yours?

Favourite starter is definitely anything prawns.  This isn't just with Indian food.  I'm very soon going to try the prawns done in batter cooked in ghee from the Rick Stein's India series.  I keep meaning to do it and couldn't find the recipe.
I did yesterday. http://focussedonfood.blogspot.com/2013/09/rick-steins-india-prawn-fritters.html

Butter Chicken or Lamb Balti for a main.

Mango Lassi for dessert.

Some 30 years ago, I had only seen Onion Bhaji and Samosa on the Menu (plus a main dish).

After a night out with colleagues, one took me to his local 'Asian' Restaurant where he insisted on ordering for us both, I am glad he did.
Over the next few years. we experimented with many 'local' (walking distance of the town centre) Take away/Cafe's but never really found dishes that were as good.

I don't have a 'sweet tooth' and so have never had a 'dessert' dish,
BAJ
