I've been using Supreme Brand by Lubna foods Bradford.
Examples -
100g Black Salt 49p -
and a 300g bag of Deggi Mirch only 1.59p -
The Deggi Mirch is extremely cheap (when compared to the 100g
packs from MDH), but what do you use the black salt for ?  I see
it every time I visit the Gurkha shops in Ashford, but never buy
any because I do not know for what it is used !

Sulphur, Rotten Eggs, it tastes like the smell of. if that makes any sense  :)
It also leaves a lingering after taste.
I like Chaat Masala, and Black Salt is one of the main ingredients.

There are loads of traditional recipes that call for it and when I'm
doing BIR curries I add it when I want an extra sourish flavour to the sauce.

Well, the smell of rotten eggs is Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), and my wife tells me that I produce that in abundance (usually in bed) after a normal curry, so what my flatulence would be like if I deliberately introduced it into my diet I hate to think !  However, never one to duck a dare, I shall try some and report back (if I  am still alive to tell the tale).

Lubna have a website but it seems they only supply in wholesale quantities and by the looks of it they only have a handful of spices available. I searched for cumin and coriander powder and it came up with no results ... maybe they are new to the web? and will update it as they go over time? I will be keeping my eyes peeled anyhow.

My local store in Leicester supplies Rajah and Pearl products which I use and I'm very happy with and beleive my local TA's use, but obviously the quality of the curry is down to many factors not just the brand of spices used.
