I've been using this bit of free software to download some of the curry videos lately (CT's and others). and thought some members might like to do the same, So here is the link.
http://atube-catcher.en.softonic.com/ (http://atube-catcher.en.softonic.com/)
or here

I use this one, "FreeYouTube Video Downloader" by DVDVideoSoft for bullk downloads:
http://download.dvdvideosoft.com/FreeYouTubeDownload.exe (http://download.dvdvideosoft.com/FreeYouTubeDownload.exe)
It's a bit spammy so go carefully through the installation process - untick any options for installing toolbars or optional software
For the odd one-off download I use www.keepvid.com (http://www.keepvid.com)

Les,
will keep yours in mind. i've tried quite a few and not been impressed (either function or download nasties).
have ended up using the firefox add-on and seems to work a treat. it adds a button on the browser which allows you to pick the picture quality you want.

I use this YTD
http://download.cnet.com/YTD-Video-Downloader/3000-2071_4-10647340.html (http://download.cnet.com/YTD-Video-Downloader/3000-2071_4-10647340.html)
works with vimeo too, lets you pick the quality and downloads fast. Nice thing is it will auto paste the url and you can start many multiple downloads

I have had bad experiences with Softonic; I would recommend treating the site with some caution.

I've had zero problems so far. no pop-up's, malware, or viruses. nothing at all.

I'm sure that many Softonic downloads are trouble free; unfortunately one of mine was not, and Google recently reported :
What is the current listing status for softonic.com?
This site is not currently listed as suspicious.
What happened when Google visited this site?
Of the 29048 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 0 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2012-12-17, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2012-12-16.
Malicious software includes 74 trojan(s), 37 exploit(s), 2 worm(s).
So, treat with caution, but do not assume that most or all downloads are dangerous.
