Title: Chicken Bengali with Taz Base
Post by: Stephen Lindsay on January 09, 2013, 07:16 PM
Another effort from the cook4one website, adapted for the Taz base. The tamarind gives it a darkish colour and it comes through in it's sourness and I guess could be reduced a little. It has a bit of a kick due to the chilli paste (Ashoka). The addition of fried potato cubes gives this dish a twist and it tasted really good. Definitely one to do again.

Chicken Bengali

Ingredients:

1 portion of pre-cooked chicken
100 g potato (prepared weight) cut into 1 cm cubes and par boiled, then pre-fried (see notes)

The energy's not a problem Phil as I luvs me curries. As for time well fortunately I have been on annual leave all week with the intention of decorating my bedroom and do the last of digging over my allotment. The bedroom is now done but the rain has put paid to the allotment, and having made 16 portions of base earlier in the week I thought I would see what culinary delights I could knock up. As well as curries I have done shepherd's pie, macaroni cheese and lentil soup. I have also planned for later in the month - haggis pakora!

It's actually permanently on the menu at Ashoka so it's worth a try.
