Title: Arjee Bhajee

Arjee Bhajee

Crowthorne Gardens
Nottingham

I've had meals twice from this place and they are absolutely amazing
It's not "back to the eighties" but it's the next best thing
I had almost given up hope of finding anywhere good, since Bombay Style on Alfreton Road closed.
We had paneer rhogan josh, veg vindaloo, veg phall and garlic coriander naan.
I made the special rice & mushroom rice ,using the Viceroy recipes which are absolutely fantastic
Check those recipes out they are world class.
You can watch again and again to see all detail
I used East End madras curry powder for the spice mix

All the bought curries had a wonderful aroma, and a similar underlying flavour
So they have a brilliant curry gravy!
The rhogan josh was so garlicky (lovely)
the vindaloo had a good heat and subtle spicing
and the phall had the extra heat, I so love
It came to just over ?12
The last time I spent money so worthwhile, was went I ordered from them before
If they are near you, try them out
You won't be sorry

I'm glad you've found a takeaway worth ordering from Pete. Where can I find the recipes for the Viceroy rices?

both are fantastic
The ghee he uses is butter
Only use a touch
It has a very strong flavour

We had the whole family order from Arjee Bhajee last night
Absolutely amazing again
We had
Chicken vindaloo (extra hot)
Vegetable Madras (flipping hot)
Sag paneer
Paneer Rhogan Josh (mega garlicky)
Pillau Rice
Poppadoms
Naans

Everything was perfect
But there is this extra aroma the curries have
I reckon it's a garam masala
I can't put my finger on what it is, although I've tried and made many GM's

That rhogan Josh sauce was to die for
Honestly, I have never tasted better in any decade
If only I could make that
The depth and layers of flavour are perfection

Oh and the rice was wonderful
Fluffy, colourful and flavoursome with cummin seeds dotted throughout
I can't wait to buy again

It's mainly because of this place that I have stopped cooking so much
I couldn't even get close
It's completely crushing

It's here:-
Arjee Bhajee

Crowthorne Gardens

I've never actually been there
I get my food through the "fill my belly" website and it's delivered to my house
One of my kids was home the other week
He tried them and was so taken that he ordered four times over two weeks
And each time he ordered two curries with rice for himself
They were running a ?10 offer on that
