Hi,
Joined a while ago, but been taking a back seat. I see there are least a couple of Members from here in France.
I have some basic knowledge of BIR, but always keen to learn. Looks like some good stuff on the Forum here, so looking forward to investigating further.
MBC :)

Welcome MBC !!!
-
Bonjour Andy,
Fancy seeing you here! :)
Just tried to PM you, but didn't work. Perhaps I can't until I've made a certain number of posts or something. Haven't read the small-print yet!
How's it going?
MBC :)
-
Not sure there is any small print MBC !
-
Oh yes there is!
-
Ha ha nice :)
-
Welcome MBC, nice to see you here and posting.
-
Thanks Gents,
When I try to PM - it asks me to 'fill in the letters displayed in the picture' - however there isn't any picture! Anyway, heading out for lunch (French!). Will investigate further later (subject to red wine intake! :)
MBC.

Welcome Mr Cheese. Haven't I seen you somewhere before ;)
-
Welcome. Here, you can ask questions... :D
-
Hi MBC welcome to the forum where you are allowed to have an opinion :D
-
Even if it is wrong ;)
-
Welcome. Here, you can ask questions... :D
Wow so That's how forums work.
-
Only some!!! :P :)
-
Careful as you'll get a warning from the headmaster like I did. Apparently, he's only been wrong once in his life. It was when he thought he was wrong but actually he was right. ::)
-
Bienvenue Mr Le Fromage.
Very good timing as I will be in Lyon soon and if you can recommend any good city centre Indian restaurants, I would appreciate it :)
-
Apparently your banned now Gav I

Reason given for ban: Continually Disrupting the Forum

I'll not sleep tonight. :(
And if I am, it'll be the 1st time I've ever been banned in my life. Feel like getting my football out and smashing a few windows.
-
Unfortunately MBC, you can now see the problem on this forum. None are perfect.
This one gets hijacked and goes off on tangents which have nothing to do with the original post :P
-
But at least the thread doesn't get split up in to new postings :)

Very true. I don't see various members' enthusiasm for a thread, and what they want to say, as a problem at all. It's good that a new member has acted as a catalyst for so many messages.
-
Nice to see some active new members as well.

Even if they are CA's cast offs! ;D
He's the best recruiting agent this forum has ever had...keep on keeping on CA. :P

Unfortunately I have now banned GavIscon for continually disparaging this forum and bringing it into disrepute elsewhere (despite several warnings to please refrain from doing so).
Beware, spys everywhere!
Hello MBC too ;D - Yes I have also taken refuge here from the Third Reich BIR Forum >:(
Cheers Chrisnw

Well it looks official and as as I said earlier thats the first time I been banned from anything in my life. Oh drat I'm crying in my cornflakes. It obviously proves he still reads this forum. Couldn't believe how stroppy he got with HC about the self raising naan atta which he insisted wasn't correct as atta was chapati flour. Anyway heres a photo I took at my local indian distributors warehouse just in case the Headmaster reads this as well.
Oh and welcome Chris. Its like a remake of the Great Escape at the moment.

Perhaps the headmaster should rename it to bancurries.co.uk? Be more appropriate at the minute. :)
-
I'm feeling 'left out' :(

Oh and welcome Chris. Its like a remake of the Great Escape at the moment.
Think of this forum a bit like Switzerland was portrayed in the film - a nice, free, safe and neutral place to be (within reason), like if you started swearing in the street in Switzerland, you might get arrested, and bad language is not kindly thought of here, either, as one of very few rules.
-
...ironically, of course, unlike the average Indian restaurant on a Friday night.
-
Goodbye, chrisnw, I believe your problem is now solved
just been informed of this Chris haha did you call CA hitler or something?
-
"Compliments will get you nowhere!!!" :D
-
Hi MA,
All I said was - Hello MBC too ;D - Yes I have also taken refuge here from the Third Reich BIR Forum >:(
The rest is history :'(
-
Not sure if this forum had the facilities/infrastructure to cope with such an influx of refugees.
May have to call upon the UN for advice :(
-
Thanks for all the welcomes guys. Garp, I've only tried 2 'Indian' Restaurants in Lyon, and wouldn't go back to either. I've recently been told that 'Le Shalimar' (39 Quai Gailleton 69002, Lyon) is good, but not had a chance to try it yet. Will try to do so soon and report back. When are you in Lyon?
MBC :)
-
Hi MBG, thanks for that. I think I looked at that one online as it's quite near my hotel so will probably give it a go :D
-
Sorry, I arrive on 26th of this month so will give Le Shalimar a try and let you know what I think :)
-
Ok, so I didn't check if it was open on Sunday :(
-
garp - doh
mbc care to share your experiences with your bir cooking course ? How about sharing your base recipe and techniques
-
Never mind, found another :) FIR Madras en route.
-
Hello all just found upon this topic :) it's like the old school reunion here without the head master baying for BlOOD :o
Big Welcome from me MBC.
-
Oh well, that's the hols over for another while. Sorry, didn't get to Le Shalimar MBC.
Have been keeping an eye on things while away and JB's base is creating a lot of interest - must try it soon :)
