Finally got my car back on the road and checked this kebab house out yesterday based on a recommendation. The Bangladeshi chef has over 40 years experience. I went with Chicken madras, Quibani gosth, Tandoori garlic chilli chicken, peas pillau rice, and garlic coriander naan. Curries top notch. Old school madras (blew my socks off). Pics to follow. Amazing!

All spicy dishes. The full-floc madras kicked like a mule. Gorgeous aromatics from the chef garam. I couldn't see the chef in the kitchen, but the reflection from the flames and noise indicated there was a right old inferno going on in there.

Forgot to say also tried the signature Sherpur donner kebab, in naan. All 850 g of it!

Rolled up again with the idea to making it go further.

Those pics have put me right in the mood for a beer and a vindaloo from the local:P
-
The kebab certainly looks does look proper beer food. What was the sauce it was in Rob?
-
The Sherpur sauce I think is very much an indo-chinese type recipe; chicken 65, mirch waala, etc. I'm not a big fan of EF donner, by itself, but this definitely worked for me. I sliced it up and will get 8 starters/snacks out of it :). The Quibani is offered as Murgh/Gosth; diced chicken/lamb with onions, green peppers, chillies, semi dry. It's basically a very spicy bhuna. Madras was the best, although reckon can match it myself, or close. Service onions and shed loads of fresh chef GM (with plenty ground black/white pepper) I think. Bloomin' spikey. Had really forgot to be honest that a madras used to be and should be pretty hot; a vindaloo would make your eyes water. Back there this weekend for a chicken vindaloo and lamb bhuna. Pics to follow.

Don't sugar coat your words ss, just say what you think

Oi! :) There'll be loads more coming. Currently working on Braised ox cheek in date and apricot sauce, with fondant potatoes.
Think it will work nicely with the char-grill broccoli and almonds.

Char-grilled broccoli with toasted almonds, served over tandoori pollock. The fish looks dry because it's over-cooked. :D Still tasty though.
Rob :)

"Tandoori pollock" my @rse -- that's a slice of Indian fried bread or I'm a Dutchman :) Since when did pollock come in nice regular square shapes, or have they started tinning that along with ham, tuna and salmon ?!
** Phil.
-
The pollock is legit Phil. Frozen pollock blocks, from Asda, I think.
Rob :)
-
I believe you, Bob -- thousands wouldn't !

Frozen fish is another BIR secret Phil. Earlier this year my local TA put Tandoori sea bass on the menu. I asked the owner if they got the fish from Birmingham fish market. No, he said, we got it from the Lidl on Dudley Road.

What a load of Pollocks! :o

It's just a prat to catch a mackerel, Santa ...

Pollock is ok....as long as you don't make a cod of it.....

Impressive kebab house is this. Tandoori fish on offer included cod, silver hake, salmon, and whole sea bream!
