Just made a batch of Chilli sauce, thanks for the recipe Salvador Dhali.
I used in order of quantity Carolina Reaper, Trinidad Moruga, Bhut Jolokia, Naga Viper, Nagalah,7 Pot Brainstrain, SR Strain
It tastes similar to Mr Naga, but is a lot lot nicer in flavours, its heat is greatly different also. This tastes hot at first but that keeps building getting hotter, all the different heat levels combine :o, I only had a teaspoon and its affects last a good 10 minutes, its heat is different to eating fresh chillis, a lot more pleasurable.
Really happy with this, excellent sauce.

Brilliant name for such a sauce. Not sure if anyone has beaten you to it or not. There's a Grim Reaper company that makes various sauces, but I can't find one that's actually called Grim Reaper Chilli Sauce.

Well today I took my workmate a jar of chilli sauce, he was well and truly impressed, he said that is so much nicer and hotter than Mr Naga, he's been asking for the recipe all day. A few more people are already asking if they can buy some, so I am taking my remaining 2 jars tomorrow, hopefully drum up some business ;D
-
Now that should have a nice bit of a bite to it :P :)
I bet that gets moderated Garp ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Hope it stays unmodded long enough for me to read it Garp :)
Any know anywhere to get superhots from, a lot of places want 50p a chilli, and when you need 20 for a batch to make 4 jars of sauce, with bottles and other ingredients it makes the sauce rather expensive :o

Deleted, in the light of a more recent post (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php/topic,13395.msg112846/topicseen.html#msg112846) that to my mind goes far beyond what can be reasonably regarded as acceptable here. What was, at the time, intended as a joke would now look like an endorsement of something which I most definitely cannot and do not either endorse or condone.

New batch of sauce made and gone already !! going down an absolute treat at work
This one was made with Jigsaw x tmsb, king naga, nagalah and reapers
Beautiful, lip smacking heat , and a nice warm body heat, had a good sweat on, reckon this would work very well in a vindaloo.

I might have missed it, but is the recipe for the chilli sauce on this forum?
-
No naga, I was sent the recipe, so its not for me to post, Im still testing, have to get the right amount of vinegar to preserve the sauce but not have a vinegar taste, but it is beautiful.
I was going to sell some on here but because of the price of all the superhots, it worked out for a 45ml jar of sauce cost around 85p to make , postage works out at

OK, got it. I saw that Salvador Dali had sent you the recipe and naturally assumed that he/she had previously posted it on the forum. That would explain why I couldn't find it when I did a search...
-
Yep sorry about that Naga, I would post it up, but its not mine. Once Im satisfied with the preserving element I shall ask Salvador Dali if I can post the recipe.
-
No sweat, MA. Thanks for getting back to me.
-
Hi Andy
Im not sure what the amounts you are working on -
8 oz chillies - to half a cup of apple cider vinegar - dont worry it don't taste of apples
best, Rich
-
I would love that recipe MA, thanks for posting the teaser.

Cheers Rich, is that enough vinegar to preserve the sauce?
RS I'll message S.Dhali about the recipe :)

Funny you should say that Rich, because I've been making a simple chilli sauce from a Pat Chapman tip he mentioned Years ago on telly.
It uses big reds (when in season) and distilled white vinegar only whizzed in the blender.
And that Does taste like fresh apples! ;D
