Title: Rice and almond powder
Post by: Chrisdocknowsbest on December 07, 2014, 03:24 PM
Hi,
Just need a little info in two areas, after cooking rice how safe is it freeze or warm up next day and eat, have been told you should not eat as salmonella can grow in the rice. Anybody with advise on this subject?

Next anybody use almond powder in their curry, if so why?

put rice in the fridge as soon as cool
microwave ok for up to three days later
Freeze if you want, that's ok too
put in takeaway cartons and can be reheated in them too

almond powder is used in Korma curry

I think the whole salmonella issue with rice is a bit of a scare story - probably initiated by UKIP  :)

You can eat cold salads with rice in (even in Scotland), without any side-effects. Although I do remember a three inch tapeworm exiting my belly button. But don't let that put you off mate  :)
