The 2015 Scottish Indian Restaurant Curry Awards was held end of the last month, winners (http://www.lovecurry.info/scottish-curry-awards/entry.html)
I may be visiting Scotland this summer , has anybody visited any of these restaurants?
Would like to try some of the award winning restaurants, see if they are better than your standard fair. Any recommendations most welcome

As it happens I went to the Gurkha Cafe and Restaurant in Edinburgh a few days ago and I had a very nice curry. They do the normal BIR type stuff, but I went for a traditional lamb shank which was really good. They asked how hot we wanted our curries and for once hot came out hot. Its also pretty high up on Trip Advisor which is all you can go off really if you don't have local knowledge.

Andy, Chewy, Gav (looking a bit miffed that Andy is nearer to Chewy), obviously George in the centre, then a slimmed down Adey Payne, then, for some reason, a young George Galloway (was he once a member)?

well very nice to see some of you :) :) :) the thing i find funny about forums, why so many people do not use their selfs in the avatar, not that it matters :D :D :D

As you can see now, this is possibly why. It's my only "selfie", and I didn't take it so it's not really a selfie.
By the way, it's a Mahi Mahi or Dolphin Fish as we call them here and known as a Dorado in America. 1.2mtres long and weighed nearly 8 kg. Female.
I will remove it after 48 hours as I don't want too many people fawning over me and trying to track me down for covert relationships.

Clearly, otherwise one hopes you would not have been cuddling it. But I hope you put it back in the ocean after your love-in -- they really don't like being kept out of the water for too long ...

Ha, yes I guess it does look a bit cuddly. Unfortunately for the fish it was already too long out of the water and about 25kms west of where we first met by the time the photo was snapped. She did taste quite nice though after some gentle care.
