Hi guy's.
Hoping one of you can help an old friend in need.
I'm throwing a curry night at mine to celebrate my up and coming birthday and one of my guests have requested a 'Chicken Chom Chom'. Now then, in my arrogance, I have assured him that he will get something that resembles his restaurant favourite but in truth, I have no idea what it is or have ever even heard of it? Knowing my mates, it could be a wind up but just in case, have any of you fine people heard of the said "Chom Chom" or indeed, have a recipe.
Many thanks in advance,
Ray :)

Welcome back, Ray (you've been much missed !), and good of Surma to make their recipes available -- I think I shall be trying this one (http://www.surmatakeaway.co.uk/index.php/recipes/9-bengal-chicken-with-satkora) first ...

Hi Lez,
Many thanks for the recipe but I was under the impression that it was an actual curry with a sauce? Maybe I will have to clarify with him what it actually is or certainly what he thinks it is.
It's my fault, I should have to told him, he's having a bhuna and he can lump it (Mancunian expression).
Hi Phil, thanks for the 'welcome back'
Ray :)

Mebbe this one ?
49. CHICKEN CHOM CHOM
Marinated barbecue chicken off the bone, pan cooked with a spicy onion & tomato based sauce, in a medium, sweet & sour sauce with tarmarind, flavoured with fennel & curry leaves.
or, if he is a fellow Mancunian :
CHICKEN CHOM CHOM

Hi Phil,
The second one sounds about right as he also suggested a CTM as an alternative, and the dish that you describe seem quite close in comparison, with the addition of onions and peppers.
Thanks Phil, that something to work with.
Ray :)

There seems to be a lot of variation in this Err dish, ;D

Certainly is... Bhuna style dish with crispy fired onions and egg.

Yeah Gav Iscon, I'd seen that version too. I think he's going to have to have a bhuna and crack on that it's a Chom Chom. He'll be sozzled anyway, so his ignorance will be my saving grace ;D
