Theres a chance next week that I may get to Brick Lane, therefore any recommendations as they all seem to be touting themselves as the best curry ever?  ::)

Gav,

You're best avoiding brick Lane and trying one of these

Tayyabs 83-89 Fieldgate St, London E1 1JU
Needoo Grill  87 New Rd, London E1 1HH
Lahore 2-10 Umberston St, London E1 1PY.
All are close to Brick Lane not BIR but all very good, try the Dry meat or a mixed grill.
Taj Stores in Brick Lane is a great place to stock up on cooking equipment and spices.
When are down here?

London.

No no !  Far better (IMHO, of course) is Lahore 1, 218 Commercial Rd, London E1 2JT (0207 791 0112); stick to the kebabs (made to order, as are the chapati to go with them) and either take your own alcohol (discretely) or order a jug of mango lassi.  Use your right hand only to avoid giving offence; there is a hand-washing basin right in the restaurant (no need to go to the loo to wash your hands after your meal).

Just been to pick up a takeaway and whilst talking to the lad that runs it I mentioned Brick Lane. Don't go, go to Lahore instead. So thats 3 out of 3 (nearly). Lahore it is hopefully.

Hopefully next Friday or Saturday daytime. I may look round the stores if time permits.

(Indian Express, Kensington) -- exceptional reviews, both on Google and on Trip Advisor.  Sounds as if it must be worth a try ...

Yep, I had to have my left over curry for breakfast. I may have to try two places then.  :)

I was in London visiting my Daughter in March this year, I wanted to go to Brick lane she asked a couple of asian guys who worked beside her and they recommended Lahore 1, 218 Commercial Rd, so that is where we went, basic interior, place was very busy with many asian customers, onion bajee was awsome as was the rest of the meal.
