Title: Just joined.
Post by: Bhaji Bob on August 13, 2016, 09:38 PM
Hi All,
Just a quick hello from me. Although I've enjoyed curries for many years and yes, I remember
Vesta curries, I've had very little success in producing my own but I'm beginning to make some
headway now thanks to the internet and sites like this. My aim, of course, is to capture the aroma,
flavours and textures that are so elusive.  I'm looking forward to chasing that dream.

Welcome TTK.  I too remember Vesta curries, but I also remember them as being uniformly awful.  What surprises me, however, is that my recollections of Vesta paella are "quite edible, not too bad considering".  I wonder whether I would feel the same if I were to try a Vesta paella again today ...

It was the Vesta chicken curry, chicken in a yellow gloop, that first hooked me. With hindsight the flavour was similar to a Chinese mushroom curry rather than Indian.
Or is that early onset dementia playing tricks with the memory?
