I had been wanting to try the Indian restaurant in P****s for some time, but when our head chef informed me that it was closing down I felt it was time to make the journey. First impressions were excellent

Now we all know why it was closing down, hate it when you get an awful meal, such a waste of time and money.

Thank you for the report Phil.
Every Cloud.... at least it didn't make you ill!

where was this?
looks like the name has been censored

"A village in Cornwall, between St Austell and Truro". I redacted the exact location out of respect for the front of house staff, who were exemplary even if the food was not.

Was this Tandoori Spice?
Redacting the location might be respectful to staff but is arguably a disservice to those for whom your review could potentially save from a rubbish evening out?

I agree. What's the point of this section of the forum if anyone using it seeks to withhold the name? It doesn't make sense. It only means one or two people were forced to spend time trying to find out where it was. It was good of them and a pointless step by the OP.

As I wrote at the time, George, "I redacted the exact location out of respect for the front of house staff, who were exemplary even if the food was not".

I did, of course, read your reasoning before making my post. Several members, including myself, consider it bad form. The others clearly disagreed by going out of their way to identify the restaurant, regardless.

Then it seems to me that you did not derive as much benefit from your public school education as you might have done, George. Had you done so, you would have known instinctlvely that it is very bad form to snitch on another chap, even if that chap has just served you a meal that was almost inedible and which did his establishment's reputation no good whatsoever ...
