This works for me.
Make sure you measure out your rice first.
One cup of rice to two cups of water.
I don't bother to wash the rice before I cook it.
Bring the water to the boil and add the rice.
I also add salt to taste.
Continue to boil until the level of the water has dropped below the rice and small holes appear in the surface of the rice.
Place a tea towel over the rice and cover with a lid. Turn the heat down to the lowest setting and cook for a further ten minutes.
Turn off the heat shake the pan and allow to stand for a further ten minutes do not uncover the pan.
Fork rice to fluff it up and serve.

I make mine similar but use a rice/water mix of 150% (eg 300ml rice 450ml water).
I add my rice to the water cold in a pan with a tight lid (a little tin foil helps if the lid is not tight)then bring to the boil.
Once it has started to boil I put it on the smallest ring at the lowest heat for 10 mins then switch off the heat completely and allow to stand for 10-15 mins before taking the lid off.
I get perfect fluffy rice everytime with this method.
