jings that's a size! :o  Unfortunately I live at the top of a big hill and we're exposed to the winds so I doubt very much we'd be able to grow one unless we could keep it indoors all the time....I'd need a bigger house though judging by the size of yours....Can't say I'm not jealous though :P

thats some amount of curry leaf from one tree, must be pretty profitable for the growers considering what is charged for a little pack.

well the wholesaler/retailer realy, the growers probably get very little.

wish i had the space for one of those as would take you up on your kind offer.

Bump:

Mate in Brisbane gave me these cuttings in pot, they are starting to take off and the leaves have a very pungent aroma.
I've never used curry leaves, do these look like the genuine species?

Yep - these are curry leaf plants. You're lucky up there as they wont lose their leaves in winter. Mine ends up just being a stick in winter down here.
Cheers
Steve

Bump: finally tracked a bush down at a local farmers markets at the weekend - I just stripped off a "spray" and popped them into a chickpea chole that's on the simmer, for some extra oomph.  :)

edit: the original bush didn't do very well, so I chucked it.

Great to see the photos in this post....
Curry leaves definately do grow well in the UK. It takes a bit of heat to get them going but we've been selling the plants for several years now and have many happy customers... The picture is of my own tree in flower as it was recently featured in our recent 'Grow Your Own Curry' display at Hampton Court Flower Show but we do also have young curry plants available via our retail website at www.plants4presents.co.uk (http://www.plants4presents.co.uk)
