Went into Lidl (Tonbridge) yesterday and noticed they had some packs of Tilda microwaveable basmati rice -- the packet claims it needs only two minutes in a microwave oven. Bought two packs today, and rather than following the instructions, I did my own thing -- bhooned some star anise, cardomom, kala jeera and cassia bark in a little ghee in the microwave oven for one minute on full power, then poured the contents of the Tilda pack on top, crumbling it as I went, and finally microwaved the whole in a pyrex casserole (with lid) for three minutes on full power. Result was excellent, but I would personally add a little salt (Khanh does not like salt in rice, so I did not on this occasion).

A good result then Phil ;D I take it that you will be sticking (no pun intended) with Tilda rice now then, ;D
Must say I haven't seen the microwave pack's yet, But I will look for them now, and give this a whirl
