Did anyone manage to catch this programme last night?
I dont have the channel unfortunately but have asked a friend to do a series record for me.
I hope it can be transferred to disc or a memory stick?
Frank. :)

I very rarely get a look in where Sky is concerned so also missed this. Can it be viewed via the web?
-
If its out there, I'LL find it and post the link. ;)

Its on tonight at 9
I'll try and keep awake

Yes, I watched it today and was exactly what I expected.
A overview of the British and their love of British Curry
One place which looked typical of the London casual dining scene
is Roti Chai, off Oxford Street. 3 Portman Mews South, London, W1H 6HS
http://www.rotichai.com/dining_room.html (http://www.rotichai.com/dining_room.html)
Very limited and selective menu and looks well worth a visit, next time I'm down there.
On the other extremes, she tried a Fish & Chip Shop somewhere and bought a carton of chips with a curry splash.
TV Chef Vivek Singe cooks his version of a Dopiaza at the Cinnimon kitchen and she pays a visit to thursday night curry club at a Whetherspoons Pub somewhere.
Then she finished off, cooking her take on a spicy CTM.
All in all an interesting show

The show that was on tonight was interesting as it showed a high profile restaurant, mumtaz, and he cooks a meal Karai Chicken, in 7 minutes but without a base. He adds most of the ingredients, chicken, g and g, powder etc to a cold pan with no oil! He basically boils it and then adds the oil at the end and the reduces it. Comments guys?

I've dined in Mumtaz (no idea if it was the same one) but a long time ago; I would have to try his 7-minute Karai Chicken before commenting, though, and I will be interested to see the video if anyone manages to locate one --- what channel was it on ?

She also referred to a red Kashmir paste, that the chef was using, (also the housewife) Didn't get the name of it, anyone else know?

On a similar theme, did anyone see the 'Joy's of Curry'? Nothing there that anybody on cr0 wouldn't already know but still, good to have things confirmed.

Really good 2nd episode, The Mumtaz kitchen, showed another non-Bengali way of knocking up
a quick chicken curry, using a Chinese Wok and Chinese "Gas Turbine" cooking range.
The millionaire owner said the cooking method "quick and easy" came from his dearly departed mother.
Madhur didn't seem too convinced about this cooking style.

Can't wait to see if she gets in an authentic Bangladeshi (Muslim) Restaurant and gets on the Garabi.
She cooked a sweet Saffrani Pilau, which looked the dogs, but she must have used at least 6quid of Saffron. Ouch!
Very good watch.

Hi Phil -- GOOD FOOD Channel. Sky 247
Thanks, Les : is that a "pay-for" channel, do you happen to know ? Being a tightwad I have only FTV Sky which I augment with over 2000 FTA channels from Astra & Hotbird, and selecting channel 247 on Sky tells me "This programme is not available" :(

Downloading both episodes now.
I'll shrink em down then upload on youtube and make them private with a link from here only. ;)

Fascinating : just finished watching the "Mumtaz curry from scratch in 7 minutes". As it's a single portion you can't really go wrong (i.e., in the worst case you can re-cycle the chicken and bin everything else) so I shall definitely give this a go.
