Now on my 24th  Vindaloo as per CA's recipe.....just love it used his and curry2 go base mix but prefer cA's base best

And I am. massive fan of CA's base sauce and Vindaloo now on my 12 th CA base sauce curry Vindaloo and have to say best curry I have ever tasted and iVe been trying to get that taste for 30 odd years!

I did the base recipe as per the curry2go ebook using pressure cooker and same amount of oil and it was fine
I think the water mixed with the oil makes it safe.... It would be dangerous if you suddenly chucked cold water into oil though :)

I remember a few years ago finding a morrisons which still stocked Pataks tins of Vindaloo when everyone else had stopped stocking it so I bought every tin on the shelf (15) :)
The checkout girl thought I had a restaurant and gave me a discount too lol

Why not by online from firms like Natco
They deliver fast and a good price mate

Having worked my way through the Curry2go Ebook base sauce recipe and Vindaloo recipes I have to be honest and say the results were no where near as good as the one I chose on here that was CorryAnders (CA's) recipes
Added to this I have had no answers from 2 emails I sent to juliian mentioning his typo on the curry2gorecipe for base mix where I'm sure he double doses the root ginger.

I cook on a gas hob
When we hired a villa in Greece last year and I was heating up a curry I had smuggled in my suitcase I couldn't believe how terrible it was to cook on an electric hot plate not to mention cooking the rice!


I got the Curry2go ebook yesterday and today devoted the whole day to sourcing some recommended ingredients which I didn't already own
Made 24 portions of  the Curry2go base mix which I'm happy with
The Vindaloo I made from the book resembled a Pataks Vindaloo I can only put this down to the whole lemon juice
As for the addition of fresh Methinks leaves I can't understand how this makes a difference
This is my second Vindaloo in 2 days I must admit CoryAnders Vindaloo which I made last night for the 8th time remains the KING of all currys which I have made over 30 years
