Always 500ml - I always make a double portion of curry when I cook

I have never eaten a "geographically true BIR" dish let alone the holy grail of the 1970's, if it exists.

Sadly it doesn't.  But it very definitely did !

Agree , it most certainly existed and was far superior to today’s offerings at most BIRs

Hi Guys ,
I’m still here and regularly cooking curries - good to hear so many have migrated over after Cory introduced the fee to view his forum. I posted a few recipes there and I’m happy to share them here too in due course ..... and if you’ll have me back  ;)
Best wishes to all of you !
Colin / Westy

Welcome failsafe !

Fresh is loads better , easier to work with , more tasty ( natural I mean without acidic preservatives and God knows what ) and it can be frozen too .. I usually make up about 500g at a time and freeze in 50g tablet containers which then lasts a couple of months .. to not do fresh is idleness IMHO   ;)

I thought this deserved a bit of a 'bump' because I've made this a few times using CA's pilau rice and CA's mix powder and it's very nice indeed .. a nice change from 'plain' pilau especially if you've a couple of mushrooms in the fridge that you're at a loos what to do with .   :)
