2. Cooks any meat (tender) in a fraction, 30mins max.

Any tips Chewy for getting tender chicken for curries using the pressure cooker? I use it for making a garabi but never used it for meat.

Lets Talk Curry / Re: Low carb curry recipes??

Nothing wrong with full fat.

http://www.dietdoctor.com/lchf

The first 6 months of this year I was eating mostly curry recipes from this website with no junk food inbetween. Week on week I was losing weight. As for rice, very starchy and advice would say avoid it in large quantities if you were practicing low carb diet. That said, it all depends on how tolerant you are to rice in terms of weight gain. The Chinese, Japanese and Indians seem to be tolerant to it as their weight was unaffected at least before the western diet started to take hold.

Lets Talk Curry / Patak's curry paste - how long is the shelf life?
« on: November 05, 2013, 02:25 PM »
Hi,

Have a few patak's paste that I want to use in a curry tonight. I think I opened them over six months ago and they have been in the cupboard since then not the fridge. Best to discard and get new ones or would they be okay? The best before date on the lid has not expired yet.

Cheers.

Lets Talk Curry / Re: Glasgow via Germany

It's been a while since I've had a Glasgow curry but worked up near Inverness a few years ago and had an extremely good lamb curry from a small village takeaway.

Lets Talk Curry / curry for two
« on: April 13, 2013, 02:29 PM »
When cooking for two is it just a case of doubling the quantities of the ingredients and base or is it a little less straight forward than this? Do I double the spices or keep them the same as one portion?

Thank you! It's got great flavour and the pepper is a nice touch. Wish I could remember how to turn the flash off on my camera as it tends to wash a lot of the colour out of the finished curry. Need to clean that bloody cooker too!
