This recipe has got me pretty excited. Our local TA does a special starter...Lentils Special Starter, which they also do as a main course, its absolutley delicious, ive always wondered how to cook it and have asked the chef what the ingrediants are, all he will say is 'plenty of tamarind Mr Paul, plenty of tamarind', and thats all he will reveal.

Its a thick red sauce with chicken tikka and sheek kebab in it and sounds very very similar to the OPs recipe, albeit i dont detect the pre fried onion and peppers.

Im going to try this recipe for myself at the weekend, and have a 50/50 mix of tikka and kebab in it, im praying it will be similar, it certainly looks good!!!!

So a big thankyou for sharing......

Im also going to use a tamarind concentrate called Tamicon, whether that will work or not i dont know, but its what i have in the cupboard at the moment.

Ill try and get some pics up when i do it.

Paul  :)

"Does anybody remember the really sticky KFC Spare ribs"

I do they were very nice, as I remember Sherry and five spice (or maybe Chinese sherry @ star anise)
played a nice part when opening the box.
Sadly as you said after about 2 years they vanished.
Back in the day as we always bought them  :(

Yes Graeme, im glad you remember them, they played a crucial part in my weekend culinary delights all those years ago, after a few pints of Tennants Extra on draught, which you also can not get anymore, not in the Midlands anyway  :D

Hiya

Does anybody remember the really sticky KFC Spare ribs that they used to do in the early 80s?

I can recall many a drunken evening as a 20 year old staggering home after a friday night out with a box of ribs, they were so sticky and sweet, and absolutely gorgeous. Kfc stopped doing them a few years later, and have never done them since, maybe they were so unhealthy and full of everything that is now banned, but they tasted so good!!! Would love to replicate them, any body have any ideas?

Regards ;D

I make this dough in my bread making machine and has always been spot on.....

TOTAL TIME
2hrs 20mins
PREP 2 hrs
COOK 20 mins
I came across the recipe from a copy cat recipe source. The 2 hours includes dough cycle time. This is one of the best pizza dough recipes I have found.Skip to Next Recipe INGREDIENTS
Nutrition
SERVINGS 6 UNITS US
1 1⁄3 cups water
2 teaspoons sugar
1 1⁄4 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons cornmeal
3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
1⁄4 teaspoon onion powder
1⁄2 teaspoon msg (Accent*)
1 1⁄2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
DIRECTIONS

Add ingredients (except for cornmeal) to machine bread pan in order as per manufacturer's instructions.
Set to "Dough" cycle.
Lightly grease one 9 x 13-inch pan and sprinkle with cornmeal.
When the dough cycle is complete, roll out dough and place in pan.
Let rest in pans for 10-15 minutes.
Add toppings of your choice.
Bake at 350?F until done (approximately 20 minutes, depending on the thickness of toppings).

As again, ive found this on another website, so i do not declare that its my recipe, but i have found that it makes fantastic pizzas, for toppings, i just copy what on the menu that drops through my door, my fave being pepperoni........ If anybody uses these, i hope you enjoy as much as myself and my family.
