Tried this for the first time yesterday, very impressive, swapped the chilli powder for extra hot chilli powder and used a little more onion than in the recipe.

Other than that it was as per the recipe.

Very nice, also very easy to make.

Top stuff!

"West Ham United" vmixture?  Didn't that used to be called "The Star of Bengal"?  ;)

Both true to my heart CA, and great tips from that neck of the woods in the world of Asian cooking  ;D

Ok I'm new here so who am I to say....but.....

The missus found the jalfrezi far too hot, so on night 2 using the saffron base I used zero chiili powder and no chillies in the recipe but I added a half teaspoon of Garam massala near the end of cooking and she was very impressed indeed.

Not ground breaking but it did the job.

After last nighs feast using 4 new methods I had enough base left to re-create the same meal. Being adventurous I wanted to add something, so here are the bhajis that I made tonight. Very tasty indeed.

What takes 2 days to make and is gone in less than 5 minutes?  ;D

Post moved to Jalfrezi thread here!  http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php/topic,2326.msg21553.html#msg21553

Hi sns,

You are right the photo was literally straight after the blending. The oil did rise to the top after simmering, however as i have had to freeze 3/4 of the sauce its all been stirred back in. Hopefully a quick 15 minute simmer and it will reappear. Couldnt find any water bottles to freeze it in (although I love this idea as 1ltr bottles are the perfect size for a meal for 4) so i simply dipped a 1 ltr jug into the pan and scooped it into freezer bags. Bit messy but it got the job done.

Well the base is complete and after a quick taste test nothing new really to report. Very nice consistency, but not huge hit of flavour which of course there isnt supposed to be in this recipe. If I get a chance today I will use to to make a jalfrezi and give an update then, For the time being I'm looking for empty water bottles so I can start freezing  ;D

Welcome to cr0 vmixture  8)

I see you've been hard at it already!  Good on ya!  :P

You will see that I have moved a number of your posts (and replies to them) to more appropriate recipes threads to which they refer.  It's good if people can keep it that way because it makes things easier to find  :)

Happy cooking!

Thanks CA
