    Expanding on that thought, could it be that best tasting TAs pour the remains of the previous pot of base into the new one before cooking it? Maybe you would get this underlying moorish sweetness from the onions from the first base being cooked again and for longer?

    Hi Ray,

    I'd certainly be interested in any recipes that taste good and are relatively healthy. I've spent my entire life fighting with my weight and am always looking for ways to reduce the calories  :)

    I would try hard to find ready ground seeds because the whole seeds are as hard as bullets. I tried to grind them once and won't be doing it again  ;D

    I was just looking for something else and came across this info which may be useful:

    "Both Malbathrum and Bay Leaf are similar and called as Tej Patta in Hindi. however, they are from two different families with difference in taste"

    Hi Paul,

    I agree completely with your views. I think its this moorish onion taste which is missing from my curries. I eagerly await any further info/test results and could maybe find some time to participate in testing if you need more people.
