Pictures of Your Curries / Re: Ooops No Meat

Totally agree London....and I wish I could get my tomatoes to keep their shape like that.  Recipes I've used (like CA's Jalfreizi for example) have the tomato in almost from the start.  Mine just go to mush in that case.  Even putting them in towards the end doesn't always work.  Is there some technique I'm missing????
Thanks for the pic Chewy.

Followed the directions as you suggested Bob.....and it was really good!  Definitely on my list to repeat and repeat.  I'd recommend all lovers of tikks masala to try it out.  Thanks Bob.

Hi Bob.....and many thanks for the quick reply.  I'll certainly follow your advice , especially about the methi leaves.  I'm all set to start cooking in about 30 minutes and already the mouth is watering!

Thanks again

Looks delicious SR.  Can I ask which recipe you used to create the Madras and what the level of reduction was in spice mix, tom puree etc.  I'd like to give this a try at the weekend!

A very tasty looking dish, Bob.  Did you use less tomato paste than in Maunika's recipe?  Her finished dish looks much more 'red' than in your pic.

Interesting that there's no garlic included in making the sauce - is there enough already from the tikka do you think?

Thanks for posting.  I'm going to try it out this evening!

Lets Talk Curry / Re: What do we know about oil in BIR's

Haldi:  thanks for the positive comments.  I'm pleased you enjoyed it.  It's a very simple, quick and tasty side dish that can be used to accompany most curries.  I don't have a choice as far as the tinned mushrooms are concerned, but, like you, I think their flavour adds something positive to the dish.....as long as you wash them liberally first to remove the salt water they come in!

JerryM:  pleased to be of help!  Let us know the results of your oil trials, won't you?!
