Pictures of Your Curries / Re: Chicken Pakora
« on: May 09, 2018, 09:26 AM »
Looks nice. A Pakistani lady whose husband had a shop near me used to make me pakora as my missus used to sometimes pick their kids up from school. Absolutely fantastic, best I've ever had

Talk About Anything Other Than Curry / Re: Pizza dough

I need to start cranking some pizzas out now the weather is picking up a bit. They look nice Sv. Place near to me used to do a nice doner pizza with extra garlic sauce. Not to salty which is my main grief with doner meat.  :-\

Well I gave this a go. Technique definitely has potential but the flavour wasn't what I was looking for, not close to a kebab shop and generally too "herby" so I will adjust that down next time. I did sub minced beef for lamb though, but according to the signs in my local shop the kebabs around here are made with beef (or more likely horse...).

Which one did you give a go Sv?  I'd love a good doner recipe. For me I like to do them on the BBQ or failing that i just put in the oven.. Kebab-y type things are on this years hit list to do.

Good looking spread Gav ;)
Lamb cutlets for me ! what flavour were they?
I'd love to know as they were gone in a flash. Micky Tikkas favourite.

On the menu as Lamb Cutlet Chops (Adraki)  'Three French trimmed best end chops, marinated in our Kasmiri chilli and ginger masala - barbecued to perfection'

Well a weekend trip full of food down in London meant a meet up with forum member Micky Tikka and as the booking times at Dastann didn't work out it was back to Blue Junction in Morden for a second visit and once again it didn't disappoint.

The restaurant is Indian with some Indo-Chinese dishes. As I'm not good with lots of chili at the minute we ordered mainly 'girly curries' but I have to say I really enjoyed the Paneer Mutta with peas in. All the dishes were lovely with a special mention to the Paneer dish and also the Aubergine fingers which are fantastic. Going to have to give them a go at home.. Well worth the visit.

Pizza Poppadoms - daft name but really tasty.

Plain Naan

Also had a bowl of the obligatory chips with their signature dry hot spice on.

Curry Base Chat / Re: Pressure Cooker Base
« on: April 07, 2018, 01:09 PM »
I got an Instant Pot electric pressure cooker for xmas. Great for base etc, Load it up, press the button and you don't have to watch it as it goes to keep warm once cooked.
