I do feel a bit sorry for CA, as he must be the most persecuted man in home curry cooking forum history

I feel a bit sorry for him too (despite joining the many who have been on the  sharp end of his "permanent ban").

The way I see it, one person having disagreements with one or two other people on the internet is normal. But for one person to have such conflict with so many suggests (a possibly undiagnosed) mental health issue. If that is the case, and I can't see any other explanation, then I've got bucket loads more sympathy than criticism.

I use a 10 litre stainless steel pot (which has a reasonably thick base). It's OPA-brand, but not sure if you can get those in the UK.

2,5Kg of onions (plus other ingredients), brings it very close to the top lip. It is large enough that I only need to make base 2-3 times a year.

Pretty pointless mentioning that Madras on this forum then really

It was a reply directly to MickyP. Maybe I should have sent that as a PM.

.I'm currently trying to work out how more recipe content could be brought to this forum. So please.... try not to be so confrontational.

Looks like I won't get to see what happens next.  :)

My last post resulted in a permanent ban.

Yes you won't receive any personal abuse from me, but you will get a fair, honest and polite opinion (as has been the case with all my posts on the internet).

Your choice whether to publish it, as my posts now seem to be subject to moderation before they are viewable. I have to wonder if that makes me feel trusted.

And there is my dilemma. I know I have the option to become a paid up member but what is my own trust level of what I might receive in return?

I know that many of those who openly shared their own recipes, and other helpful information with this community, are now somewhat disappointed that,
a) they cannot access their own content without "paying to view", and b) someone else is now financially benefitting from "selling" the content they gave so freely in the first place.

Previously and on many occasions I have supported your right to do what you wish with your forum, and that opinion remains unchanged. However I have some concern that you have made a grave error of judgement in taking the forum in this direction. You may have bitten the very hand that feeds the forum.

Written, as always, with the very best interest of those who wish to share enjoyment of their hobby with like-minded folks on the internet.

It's up to him what he does with his forum. I'm not going to criticise him. My only sympathies are with those who have lost their old home to share their hobby.

Luckily quite a few have now migrated to this community. Hopefully we can bring some energy, enthusiasm and helpful information.

It goes like this:

Members will develop their own curry recipes and go to the trouble of documenting these recipes on the forum.

Members will also freely give unconditional advice and support to others, driven purely by a shared love of curry.

At some point the forum owner decides that everyone should pay a tenner a year to access the forum content.

Members who gave freely wonder why they should pay a tenner, simply to view content they have freely given to the community. Few (if any) of the knowledgeable curry experts pay the tenner.

The only question is, what happens next,.....
