where do you all get you cooking utensils from ?? chefs spoons, those lovely metal bowels and so on ???

I got a couple of nice little Balti pans at the Indian Grocery shop near me but I live in Australia.  Not sure where you'd get some over there.  Maybe Sverige knows.

Pugs, this comes up quite a bit and you'll find that the "Chef's ladle" or affectionately "Chef's spoon" gets quite a lot of attention.  Unfortunately, the Chef's Spoon is not a standardised measure.  Some will hold approximately 2 Tablespoons and others 3, or more or less.

The cooks in a kitchen just use them for handling and not so much for measuring as they instinctively know how much to use from years of practice.  I personally have 3 different ones and they are not the same size. (Yes phil, 3.)

Most online Asian Grocery or Exotic Grocery sites / stores will help you obtain one and a wok, should you be not near a physical store.

I just found this site yesterday here in Oz, after doing a search related to the Meat Cleaver thread.

I wish I was closer so I could try the Rogan Josh.

When I was teaching Computer Science in High School the kids would swap the keys around on the keyboards too, just for a bit of fun.

Pantry moths are a real problem out here and there are certain things they just love in the grub stage.  Dried fruit and bran are among the worst so Sultana Bran is a paradise for grubs.

Not sure if you can get them over there but I use a pantry moth trap which is a piece of cardboard that you fold into a triangular prism shape, open each end. The inside is lined with a bait infused sticky gel.  After a few week in the pantry it is basically full when the infestation is bad.  I regularly need to go through and locate the source of infestation and toss it out.

I have recently been going through all of my herbs and spices, grains, flours and legumes and transferring them to O-ring sealed Clip-it containers.  I have found bugs inside them so they must come inside the original packaging.

Hard to get good hash out here nowadays. There's never any corned beef left at my place.

When I buy another pack, I will be sure to transfer it to a glass jar, immediately.

You may find that this wont help you.  I have found that many contaminated products are in fact this way when they are supplied.  Sometimes the bugs will be in the egg or larvae stage and develop further in the container.

I purchased a sealed container of dried dill tips about 3 or 4 years back and after the initial use, which was fine, and having them in the sealed container for a few months, was very surprised to find the whole thing crawling with tiny little black beatles the size of a pinhead.  Hundreds of them. I was even more surprised when I took the container from the spice cupboard only a few weeks back to find more of them and still alive.  I tossed it out.

I'm sure that many products come with passengers.  Chilli powder is one I've seen contaminated before.

Is it possible to permanently fix the title of this thread? It would enhance the "search" facility should anybody be looking for "pre cooked chicken", as I have done in the past and without ever having seen this thread before, (despite Phil's attempt to correct it).

JerryM, where and how did you use Black Cumin in this and how much? What was the confusion CA cleared up for you?  Was it the black seed Vs black cumin issue?
