Hello from Kent
« on: September 08, 2013, 11:39 PM »
Hi came here after seeing a post on a home-brew forum I'm a member of, so thought why not learn how to make a proper curry to go with the beer I'll be making. :D

Welcome, Andy,  I too am from/in Kent (TN12 9SZ), but sadly my favourite local restaurant and my favourite local takeway have both proved more than a little variable of late.  We have a fellow Man of Kent in Tenterden, but he has been quiet for a while; where exactly are you ?

** Phil.

I'm in the Gillingham area (close to my uni campus). Got to say the takeaways are pretty good round here.
There also seams to be plenty of shops that stock all ingredients needed,
picked up some today to make my first base for a Dhansak tonight. :)

Well I'm d@mned -- never seen that before !  The reference is, of course, to the extraordinarily confusingly named side-turning just down the road from us to which the Parish Council decided, in their infinite wisdom, to give the same name as the existing farm cottages in the Hunton Road.  So there is "Raynham Villas, Hunton Road, Chainhurst" (which is where we live) and "Raynham Villas, Marden" which is 100 yards away.  This does, of course, explain why couriers have such trouble delivering to us -- we had trouble finding the house ourselves when we were buying it !
