Tried it out tonight. Sharpness wasn't a problem but the depth of the wiggle is fairly shallow. Still it's enough to stop the fries sticking to each other in the fryer and the result was good enough for me.  I used Chewytikka frying method posted above in this thread but my potatoes probably have too much starch because they coloured up a lot.

Your chips like fine to me. Which potatoes did you use, I only use Maris Pipers for chips.

Red potatoes. I use them for everything.
