Hiya, I'm Alex from Wolverhampton...
« on: September 04, 2015, 09:41 AM »
Hiya Guys n Girls,
I'm Alex from Wolverhampton, well Wednesfield actually. Found this forum whilst looking for base curry recipes as been using the Kris Dhillon books and finding the base sauce recipe a bit lacking.
Just started back cooking for myself and a friend after a long while (long story!) and hoping to find lots of useful information here.

I am very much a beginner so please treat my gently if I ask daft questions, and also a Virgo so measure, measure, measure lol...very much an exacting cook and follow recipes to the gram, tsp, tbsp etc.....

If I can add or help others I will try but as I say very much a beginner  :)

Welcome aboard!
I'm from Wolves myself and got in to BIR a few years back as it was one of my life ambitions to be able to cook an edible curry, which I feel I have achieved.
I'm sure this place will help you along your path.

Welcome Alex there are a few folk on the site who still use the KD base, albeit they have adapted it to their tastes and experience. I'm sure you'll fine other bases that grab your attention on the site here too.

Welcome Alex, now in Stourbridge, but from across the border. You'll find plenty of help and advice, just ask!Am preparing for relatives coming down for my birthday. We've decided on "curry in a hurry"base and are all mucking in,don't know what the kitchen will look like when they've gone.
Usually use a derivation of JDs base, gave me a good start.
