Lets get one thing straight, the UK is the ancestral home of curry, nowhere else. People flock from all over the world to sample curry as it is meant to be sampled in the UK

Exactly Spicy!

There was a program on Radio 4 about 2 years ago where they spent an hour talking to the guy that started it. Originally he went to India to find out what beers they had there and then started modifying the process until he got what he liked.

When it first appeared here they GAVE it to the restaurants for free!! This was just to get customer reactions. The rest is history and the stuff is now made in the UK. :(

Great marketing and he is a very rich man.  As far as UK being the ancestral home...... Hmmmm... i would say it was the British Raj who were responsible.  With no disrespect, but if you had seen the results of the very early Birs you would be suprised at how crap it was; they had to adapts to what we wanted here - thank goodness they did, because we in conjuction with the Asian chefs inevented a fabulous new cusine.  Lovely it is boyo  ;D
