I?m a creature of habit

Batch number 20 (at least) of Syed?s chicken tikka.  I just love this recipe, but done outdoors on the grill, not in a skillet.

Used in a very mild Butter chicken cooked in the Instant Pot.  Sorry didn?t snap the curry itself but really not worth of note, but a fair dish nonetheless.  I?d have added some Mr. Naga but Mrs Robbo doesn?t appreciate that the same way I do.

I too love Syed's tikka, Robbo, but do you use my hacked version of his recipe or his original version ?

Hey Phil, all original.  Pls share your modification and I?ll give that a bash tomorrow. Just been out for more chicken thighs.  Got me back in the mood for a curry this week.

Would this be it Phil? I don't think it matters too much which brand pastes or masalas you use, but I do also like the Laziza brand.

I haven't tried chicken tikka with anything other than breast, Robbo, but I am now using (a variant of) Syed's chicken tikka recipe all the time, and the results I am getting are far better than the tikka I received in an award-winning BIR restaurant in Newquay only a couple of days ago.  Basically I follow Syed's methodology and recipe but substitute a mixture of Laziza tandoori masala and Laziza takka botti for the Patak's paste(s) that he uses in his video, and cook my tikka pieces (the larger the better) on 8mm square-section skewers in my Tepro steak grill with the heat set at tickover.

P.S. (added after mixing the left-over pulao rice from the same restaurant with my own left-over Syed's pulao rice as part of dinner this evening)
