A New Book - Curry

Hi,

I recently got this book "Curry" bought for me.
I can tell you know it has some really good recipes in.  Its split by regions of India so you can learn a lot about the differences in spices used across the regions in India.  It also has a section on English Curry Recipes (Bangladesh) and has a wicked recipe for a prawn Balti....i was really impressed when i made it.

Ill post it up when i get 5 minutes
The book is worth a look.

I've seen that book in WHSmiths but as i already have a large collection of books, i didn't feel i could add another to the collection.
Have you tried any other recipes from the book?

I may have to add this to the ever growing collection after all.

John,

I have tried a few from this book and I have not been disappointed with any of them.
Virtually all the recipes involve some kind of diced onion and tomato massala.  They all involve cooking of the onions until they are golden which i find adds so much depth and body to the recipes.

I know for my sins this is more Authentic Indian Cooking but there are some recipes that come out very close to BIR dishes i have tasted before, especially the Pakistani Dishes.

Hi Stew, i have looked through this book as a friend has it. Have you tried the tikka masala recipe? It looks really nice.

Hi JuJu,

No not yet, anything that involves cream i shy away from as i never have any.
Ive mostly tried the ones that have a massala mix or that have a sauce like a BIR curry.  With the cooking skills i have picked up over the years from this site, when making a curry from this book they always seem to turn out fantastic.
