Spice Grinder

You can get small coffee grinders such as the Braun KSM2 from almost anywhere, but what about something bigger?

If I make curry powder or garam masala, I like to make a larger quantity and this takes a long time to grind in such a small grinder.

Is there something a bit bigger? Possibly something designed for spices and not for coffee?

Would a blender do it? Or would that grind too coarse?

Hi
A blender would not suffice for spices, however I'm more concerned at the quantities you seem to be doing. A standard spice grinder is more than sufficient for making a reasonably large  quantity, failing this blend two or three times.
Don't forget ground spices are best used fresh so no need to make loads!
I'm sure there will be other opinions but hey ;D

I also agree.... if you are making more than a coffee grinder can handle then you are making way too much in advance

Yes especially garam masala.

For me, even a coffee grinder full is too much!

It's true, I grind on a per curry basis - otherwise why not by pre ground?

This is especially true with more aromatic spices, like those present in GM. The freshness makes such a difference. You really should not be grinding in bulk!
