Touch of Taste by Knorr
« on: July 28, 2005, 07:15 PM »
I have finally managed to get hold of some touch of taste liquid stock
I have been checking every supermarket I have been into, for the past two months
Eventually I got it on holiday, in Morrisons ,Norfolk
So who rates this stuff and what have you been putting it in, and how much?

I've used this for a while now and I put a few tbls in a 8-10 onion base.

Don't expect miracles, but it definately adds depth to the base....

I've never used it curries, but have in other dishes - I reckon it tastes superior to normal stock cubes but not as good as proper stock. (As with Pete I got mine from Morrisons in Norfolk).

I don't think much to ordinairy oxo chicken cubes
I think there are quite a few liquid stocks out there now
I am sure they must be different
I'll use the Knorr on Saturday
I can't believe Dylan and I went into the same shop!

Dont think much of the restaurants / takeaways in Norwich with one exception - have you  tried Shah Zahan in Waterloo Road? They used to do some excellent curries and veg side dishes. Tandoori not their best, though.

Yep, but not for a year or so. I seem to remember it being good - not too oily. If I eat out I tend to go to the Passage to India (Magdalen St) or the new one next door (can't remember the name), which is more authentic, but a bit pricier.

Haven't been to that one - to be honest I just dont trust Norfolk BIR's, most of them seem to use far too much tinned tomato, well I suppose it is cheap, but I'd rather pay more and get a decent meal. I've had curries that seem to be just pureed tinned tomato and meat with a little chilli and no evidence of oil - but only in Norfolk.
