The Ratna indian restaurant
« on: December 09, 2009, 01:10 PM »
Hello fellow curry fiends.
I have been a lover of Indian food ever since my first foray into a fabulous restaurant that opened in the late 70's here in Mid Wales.
I wonder if any of you have ever eaten there yourselves?
It was called The Ratna Indian Restaurant. It was situated down a little side street past what was once the Woolworths store, here in Newtown Powys.
I remember the Managers name was Alex.
It remains in my memory because of the sauce. It was rich and thick, not a lot of oil swimming around the plate like you seem to get a lot of these days, and the chicken, which was always my choice of meat, was always two large pieces of breast, and not the chunks one gets now.
Ever since those days,I have been searching, unsuccessfully, for another restaurant that has this magic combination.
Does anyone remember this restaurant or its owner?
perhaps you might know if Alex is still running a restaurant somewhere?
Any news would be appreciated.
In fact,if I get a reply i will be chuffed!
Now,lets get cooking for Christmas shall we?
Bon Appetite
Jonesy ;D

Are you the same Mr Jones from Wales who had the website affiliated to ukfdi? It was run by Mrs Jones if I remember correctly.
