If you want to come a few miles out of Chester, there is a restaurant called The Balti Cottage in Winsford.

I've been a regular customer of theirs since I moved up from Birmingham in the late 80's.  They opened a take away a few months after I arrived in the town.  They must have known I was moving there.  They opened a take away first then opened a restaurant next door.

Here is the link to their web site: http://www.balticottagewinsford.co.uk/

My favourite main course is the Balti Nobabi.  The addition of orange juice to the curry just makes it for me.

Hope you enjoy it.

In Chester itself the Chester Tandoori is good, buffet on a Sunday.  For kerala style Koconut Lounge is nice.

Well I never Jerry, you've just brought back some memories from years ago of a strange night in Ellesmere Port. I remember going to the Agra Fort and thinking it was a bit of a jewel in the rough. Can't even remember what I had but the after events are another story in itself which involve copious amounts of alcohol and the nearby Holiday Inn.  ::)

Gav Iscon,

Yes. Even as adopted scoucer has taken a few years to take in EP given the closeness to Chester. You don't smell the money the same.

Agra Fort is still boss, the Sunday buffet comes highly recommended, even the takeaways are great as you get a complimentary beer. Obviously being on this site I only have takeaways once in a blue moon!

The Port is weird, not much of a destination, if you last went yonks ago then there is a big fairly soulless wetherspoons around the corner.

For the old traditional curry, Agra wins, but again depends if you're limited to Chester itself or the surrounding area.
