There's hot paprika and sweet paprika, you usually see the eperate ones in supermarkets.

Tried my local Asda Vindy.

Still no joy.

Hi Carl/Vindi,

It is quite hard to get hold of believe it or not.  We have some fantastic asian supermarkets here in manchester but none of them really do hot or sweet paprika, just the standard stuff.

I have seen them (when not really looking) but when you physically search for them, it's like they never existed.

If it's hot that you want, I would add a pinch of chilli powder, and for sweet, add a bit of sugar...who knows, it may work lol.

I have seen Smokey Paprika come to think of it, never used it though.

Ray :)

Hi Guys, Hi GuitarM

I use a 50/50 proportion of sweet / smoked parpika whenever any spice mix or full recipe calls for 'basic paprika'

I find the smoked paprika in particular has a definite beneficial effect

Also the odd time Ive seen smoked paprika on the shelves of some BIRs

Both are easily found on eBay cheaply and thats where I sourced mine from.

Hope thats of use  :)
