I've got a couple of Master Cook omelette pans, very good and very cheap.
That big one is interesting, in that it looks more like a Wok style pan.
I'll have to look out for one of those.

Tip - After you've cooked a few curries in them 976, give them a good scrub
and polish with an old fashioned Brillo Pad, they will come up sparkling and
your next curry will simply glide across the pan.

Just curious how much did you pay for these?

Hi Chewy,

The large one is supposed to be a 2 portion pan. It is flat on the bottom so not really wok style, but I am really pleased with them.

Chris mentioned that I should scratch these all over on the inside with a brillo type pad before I use them, now I am wondering whether to do this after I have used them a couple of times, based upon what you have said above?

I paid 30 pounds for the 2 pans, a chef's spoon, 300 grams of Eastern Curry powder and 1st class postage, and I am extremely happy with what Chris has provided and to me well worth every penny!!

Once again, thanks Chris for providing these for me :)

Just can't wait till the weekend when I will have time to try these out :)

My biggest problem is being at home I don't have a spice rack where I can dip a chef's spoon into, so will have to rely on my teaspoons for now, but will save the chef's spoon for later on :)

Hi 976
Nice one, good package for 30 quid with first class mail. ;)

The deep double portion pans don't usually have curved sides like the one in your photo.

I like using a wok for bhajis and fried rice dishes, most domestic wok's have a flat bottom, even Ken Hom's.
I'll definitely keep an eye out for one of those though, just to add to the Ali collection.

I Brillo my pans, every couple of weeks, everything just moves better, hard to explain really, more of a feeling I guess.
cheers Chewytikka

After Brillo scrubbing Ali pans do you do anything to condition them chewy, like heat up oil to smoking point, etc, or just cook as normal?

the first pan i bought (the smaller one) just got it home washed it and used it. after cooking 20 curry's in it with all that spoon scraping and washing it was lovely to use. i was about to start making curry for tea and thought hang on if the pan was bigger i can make 2 curry's at once so of to buy the bigger pan. got it home washed it and started to make the curry well it was like some one had welded to spoon to the bottom of it. after the wife spent 20 minutes at the sink with it scrubbing the inside it was now good to use. (can't beat watching the wife's ass wiggle as she is scrubbing ;D )

Got my first set of aluminum pans and chef's spoon today + 300 grams of Eastern Star Curry Powder.....

A very BIG thank you to H4ppy Chris for sourcing and supplying these :)

Anybody managed to source the double pan other than walking into an Indian supplies shop?
