Looking for a good Sag Aloo
« on: June 25, 2012, 08:37 AM »
Hey everyone, I invited some guests over for this weekend. It turns that one of them is a strict vegetarian. I'd like to server a Sag Aloo for this person but I can't decide which recipe to make (I didn't find very many either).

Can anyone recommend a Sag Aloo recipe for an inexperienced curry eater ? ;)

Hi Stonecut,

Sag Aloo is simply a very good Bombay Aloo with spinach thrown in. Find your favourite bombay aloo recipe on here and simply add the spinach :)

I've got to make 15 portions of Aloo Gobi this weekend, so all I add is the cooked cauliflower to the bombay aloo and gently mix in taking care not to break up the cauliflower.

Hi SC

Not wishing to blow one's own trumpet... You may wish to take a look at these recipes:

Thanks, that does look good Russel, also interesting to just take any bombay aloo and toss spinach in there :)

Good ideas, thanks.

I can  certainly vouch for SP's bombay aloo.  I found it to be very close to those served round my area.  Very tasty indeed.  To make it even better i suggest you try pre-cooking the spuds according to Currybarkingmad's recipe which is withing the bombay aloo group test thread.
