darthphall 100% clone madras

i made this curry on saturday. i only made half the base but it turned out wonderfully. on completing the curry i did find that afterwards i had a overpowering aftertaste, this taste i have had with many curry's i have made in the past, i cant put my finger on it. any ideas or thoughts of what i may be doin wrong? thanks andy  ;D

Hi Andy,

I find you get that if you put powerded spices in a curry without first frying in oil or just too much spice.

I would leave out the carrots if i were you.  I find if you put to many in it can leave a lingering taste in the base sauce.
I find there is a fine line with carrots and they can be dangerous.

Did you halve the amount of all Spices & ingredients ?
I have found that Extra hot Chilli powder has been the culprit to giving a Curry a bad after taste.

fried the spices[mixed with water] at end of cooking onions/garlic, and it tasted absol great , manythanks , andy
