Lamb has such a wonderful flavour that I would personally be reluctant to marinade them at all; why not barbecue them /au naturelle/ and serve with mint sauce, redcurrant jelly and/or Cumberland sauce ?  Otherwise maybe Greek-style, with olive oil, lemon, garlic, oregano and rosemary.

Oops, just re-read the title of this thread; sorry, no ideas at all on /Indian/ lamb chops ... Sorry !

Ive done a few recipes for chops
Best so far is more or less the same recipe as if you were doing a chicken tikka
Give them a bash to tenderize them I also add to your tikka marinade minced green chilli and minced corianda
some carum seeds ( not too much can over power) and a slug of vinegar
Add salt 15 min before you cook

Not that this will be of much use to you but the best I've come across was in Tayyabs restruant in Whitechaple.
I would pay a good price for the secret to those ones, the sizzle they make when being brought to the table turns everyones heads.

Would they be the dish to the extreme left in the image below, Tommy ?

They could well be the ones Phil, my last visit was a good few months back so it is hard to tell.
The presentation of the dish shown is of the Tayyab standard.
On my next visit I will take a few snaps.
They certainly look the part... Is that flames licking off the plate or some veg garnish?

So please put me out of my suspence... Are they the Tayyab's?

Yes, definitely : the link is directly to their web site.  I was just interested to know if they were the lamb chops on the left.

UB, does it have to be Indian orientated?

If not, I have an authentic Turkish recipe that i'm sure you'll enjoy.
